Added Values
of the EIS-Tutorial

Find out more about what the EIS-Tutorial will
contain, what materials are provided, as well as
how many ECTS credits you will get on your
final Participation Certificate.

Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) has become an important tool for studying mass and charge transport in electrochemical systems. It is not only of importance for fundamental research, but also for characterising batteries, fuel cells, sensors, etc.

The EIS-Tutorial contains 5 lectures and an ‘EIS-Challenge’: The lectures will range from the basic principles of EIS to advanced applications. Next to general issues in impedance measurements, methods to evaluate data quality and to deconvolute the spectra by the distribution of relaxation times will be discussed. Different areas of EIS-applications will be presented, ranging from material analysis to testing of cells and stacks. The  lectures are followed by an ‘EIS-Challenge’, where all kinds of impedance questions, problems, and latest experiences from the participants can be discussed and exchanged with other participants.

The EIS-Tutorial will provide a basic understanding of the technical and physical principles that makes EIS one of the most powerful analysing instruments available today. However the EIS Tutorial is focused on medium to experienced level users, who are already familiar with the principles of Electrochemical Reactor Technologies such as Fuel Cells and Electrolysers.

The EIS-Tutorial will provide an excellent extension of your current know-how. It will support you with new findings and relevant experiences. You will come into contact with other users and specialists, and can enlarge your exchange and discussion network within the EIS community. During the EIS Tutorial you will receive answers to questions before you have to ask them, as well as the chance to ask questions you may not dare to voice in front of a general audience. Opportunity for discussion and exchange are provided, especially during the ‘EIS challenge’.

Each participant will receive complete documentation of the Tutorial lectures, with many useful illustrations, tables and graphs.

Participation in the EIS-Tutorial, including the correct  answering of the final test questionnaire (EIS-Challenge) will give 0.5 ECTS credits.
The credits are confirmed on the final Participation Certificate .
